Well 'owl' be -- photographer peeps owl hiding in tree

OTTAWA, Ont. -- A self-proclaimed "hobby photographer" with a pretty impressive collection of Instagram photos happened across a perfectly camouflaged grey owl sleeping in a tree in the Britannia Conservation Area last month. And of course, she got the pix to prove it.

The retired schoolteacher said she enjoys photographing "any kind of wildlife that I can find but usually birds as they're most easily found in an urban area."

Owls usually camouflage themselves as a means of survival, but the tactic can also help them hide from their prey before an attack -- not that retired school teachers are prone to attack owls.
